House Calls, #995, December 14, 2025: Not something to die for

Why U.S. commentator Glenn Beck offers to pay for surgery to save Canadian approved for MAID. A treatable condition and yet for Jolene Van Alstine who suffers from normocalcemic primary hyperparathyroism, there are no surgeons in Saskatchewan who can offer these services nor are there endocrinologists in Canada who will accept her in transfer because they are swamped with their own patients. So instead after eight years of suffering she has decided, unless help is soon available, and despite pleas to the Health Minister in her province, she will go through medically-assisted death.
