My take on how the Ontario MedCheck program is creating even more administrative burdens for family doctors. This is a program that is used by pharmacists to review medication. It would one thing if it provided useful information but it rarely does. It contains extraneous comments. Take a listen as I explain why and how this is a program that seems to not have been audited for health outcomes yet costs an estimated $50-100 million per year.
Your Calls and Comments:
- Elevated cholesterol levels in a relatively healthy 75 year-old man. Does he need to take cholesterol-lowering medications
- Persistent epigastric discomfort because of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease or acid reflux). How should this be managed.
