A report that a man who suffered cardiac arrest was revived by using an AED is wrong. You cannot shock a heart that has stopped beating (asystole) back to a normal rhythm. He likely had a cardiac arrhythmia. Rob and I go into detail about this and the misconceptions that arise when TV shows and news reports continue to misrepresent cardiac resuscitation.
