Afternoon Edition – Wednesday House Call   April 22, 2015

Dr Barry Dworkin joins Rob Snow to discuss teh latest health stories of the week.

Today:

1) Is Dr. Oz a doctor? A quack? A huckster?
2) Is a cute puppy dog as bad a disease infested rat?

In a review article published in this week’s Canadian Medical Association Journal, two veterinarians and a physician from the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario discuss a variety of diseases people can get from pets.
3) Are too many mothers having too many C-Sections? When should a C-Section be performed?
Some obstetricians in Ontario are reviewing their delivery room practices with an eye to reducing Caesarean section rates, which may be in an expectant woman’s best interest as well as a hospital’s bottom line.
4) DIY tattoos? I’ll pass. With every second person getting tattooed, what health risks are there?
