House Calls, #1025, August 16, 2026: High Speed Pedestrians

A recent CTV news report raises concerns of underage children riding high speed e-scooters resulting in death, head injuries and other trauma. Cities need to enforce the age restrictions and promote safety when using e-scooters. They should not be used on sidewalks given their high speed and risk of harm to pedestrians.

A review of how GLP-1 medications interact with the brain to reduce alcohol and other drug cravings. This is spurring further research into their applicability in supporting people with drug and alcohol use problems. This also applies to why we seek out junk food when stressed.

Omega-3 supplements do not seem to prevent cognitive decline noted in this study.
