Wednesday House Call, April 17, 2019: “Still waiting after all those years”

Wednesday House Call, April 17, 2019

Dr Barry Dworkin joins Rob Snow to discuss the latest health stories of the week.

Today we discuss the hypocrisy of our “single-payer” universal health care system. Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board routinely pays for its clients to have quick access for MRIs to speed up evaluation and management. Many people in Ontario do not have this option.

Your “universal-care-promoting politician espouses that no one should get ahead of the line except when it is comes to their care. They have supplementary health insurance that covers medications and services not available to those who do not have insurance. Everyone should have this opportunity as they do in many European countries.

Your calls about:

  • Why is aluminum added to vaccines? Does it pose a health risk? (No and we talk about why)
  • Do people over the age of 65 need a measles booster?
  • An unfortunate woman with what seems to be sciatica has to wait until next July 2020 for an assessment and treatment
  • Plantar fasciitis management
