Minimally invasive colorectal cancer surgery

As with many disease processes, catching it in its early stages, treating it or instituting preventive measures usually results in better clinical outcomes. This especially holds true for colorectal cancer. A new surgical procedure offered at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami-Dade County offers patients an incisionless option for removal of early stage rectal cancers that under traditional surgical methods would require abdominal surgery and prolonged hospital stays.
