New study suggests cannabis use by teens damages brain worse than suspected


Chronic exposure to cannabinoids during adolescence but not during adulthood impairs emotional behaviour and monoaminergic neurotransmission


This is an animal model so we have to be careful of extrapolating this to human neurophysiology until evidence is presented using human trials. Nevertheless it poses a question that should not be ignored if it enables us to understand and potentially identify reasons for increased mood disorder susceptibility amongst some individuals.
